What’s it about

DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker, Last Tango in Halifax) and DI Sunny Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar, The Indian Doctor) face an impossible cold case. A lawyer. A nurse. A schoolteacher. A police officer. These four suspects are the pieces of the puzzle. But as Cassie and Sunny put this picture together, the more blurred it becomes. The investigation will question their assumptions about the most damaged and destructive in society. When a victim becomes a criminal, is punishment the same as justice?

My wife and I have enjoyed the lead female star from many other DVD series. Nicola Walker seems to be able to play any role to perfection. It was the reason for buying Season One, and that lead to the “MUST OWN” Season Two. We will be buying Season Three when the DVD is released. We much prefer the DVDs in such a good series for multiple viewing and bonus material, not to mention being able to share with friends and family.

This series tells the story of a case that begins with a luggage encased body found in a canal dredging operation. Like Season One, an old case reopened. The difficulty of finding clues and suspects comes with the fact it has been years since the crime. The storyline plays out like a fine fictional book, revealing just enough in each episode as to require the immediate start into the next. That’s good writing, and good filming. This show has it all, including some fine supporting actors for Nicola Walker (Last Tango in Halifax; MI-5; Prisoners Wives) to bounce off.

An intense mystery worthy of a rewatch even after knowing the end and the who-dun-it.
